Why It Matters
Here’s what makes Dual Enrollment such a big deal for students at Aspen Ridge:
- Take real college classes for free
- Earn college and high school credit at the same time
- Boost your GPA
- Explore future majors and career interests
- Learn with the support of ARPS staff and peers
- Gain experience that makes college less intimidating
- Graduate ahead of the game
What to Expect
- Courses are taught by Fresno City College professors
- Classes typically last one semester (but count as a full year of high school credit)
- Students take courses in a cohort with classmates and an ARPS facilitator
- Facilitators are not professors, but they help students navigate the class and communicate with instructors
- Parents cannot contact professors directly due to college privacy laws (FERPA)
- Some courses may be held on the FCC campus for upper-grade students
How to Enroll
Dual Enrollment is available to all high school students at Aspen Ridge, based on elective space in their schedule. If you’re eligible, you’ll be placed into a Dual Enrollment class automatically—but there’s still an application process to complete with help from our counseling team.
Step 1: Apply Through CCCApply
- Submit a Dual Enrollment application to Fresno City College via CCCApply.
- Have a personal email (not your school email) ready.
- Use your legal name and current address.
- List Aspen Ridge Public School as your current school.
Step 2: Complete the Enrollment Forms
- Fill out the Dual Enrollment (AB 30) form.
- Get signatures from: your parent/guardian, an ARPS counselor, and your principal.
- Forms are available in English, Spanish, and Hmong.
- Only ARPS staff can submit the final forms.
A–G Course Credit
Most Dual Enrollment classes meet A–G requirements, which are the courses needed for UC and CSU admission. You can verify any course by searching Fresno City College on the University of California A–G Course List.
