Aspen Public Schools provides a well-rounded, leadership-driven curriculum that prepares students for academic success and lifelong learning. Elementary School Curriculum

TK–6th Grade
Elementary students build a foundation in core subjects while developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence. Through engaging lessons, hands-on activities, and leadership development, students become active participants in their learning journeys.
Aspen’s curriculum follows the Common Core State Standards, providing a clear roadmap for student learning and achievement in literacy and mathematics. These standards ensure students are prepared for the next level of education.
Aspen uses the Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) curriculum to build strong literacy skills through reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students also gain knowledge in literature, history, geography, and science through engaging lessons that build on prior learning.
Through the Navigator Math Program, students develop problem-solving skills, number fluency, and mathematical reasoning. With structured lessons and interactive activities, they build a strong foundation for advanced concepts.

Middle School Curriculum

7th Grade–8th Grade
Middle school at Aspen is a time of growth, exploration, and leadership. Students dive deeper into core subjects, develop critical thinking skills, and discover new interests through engaging electives and extracurricular opportunities.
Students build on fundamental math concepts, tackling more advanced topics with problem-solving strategies and real-world applications. Courses are designed to strengthen analytical skills and prepare students for high school math.
Through an engaging curriculum, students refine their reading, writing, and communication skills, analyzing diverse texts and expressing their ideas with confidence.
Physical education encourages teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle. Students participate in various activities that promote fitness, coordination, and sportsmanship.
Aspen Ridge offers a variety of middle school electives, including Leadership, Service Learning, Art, English Success, Math Success, and Self-Directed Learning, allowing students to explore interests and build valuable skills.
Aspen Ridge implements Gradient Learning, a program designed to foster independent thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration in middle school students. This approach personalizes learning and builds essential skills for future success.

High School Curriculum

9th Grade–12th Grade
High school students engage in a challenging curriculum that builds academic strength, personal responsibility, and leadership skills. With dual enrollment opportunities and career pathways, students graduate ready for the future.
Students build a strong foundation in algebra, geometry, and advanced math concepts, preparing for college and career readiness.
Art courses at Aspen Ridge allow students to explore different artistic mediums, develop technical skills, gain perspective, and express creativity.
Students refine critical reading, writing, and literacy skills to prepare for professional communications and college-level coursework.
Students explore historical events, cultures, and perspectives, developing critical thinking and analytical skills. Courses include World History, U.S. History, and Government.
Physical education emphasizes teamwork, fitness, and personal wellness through structured activities and sports.

Through a partnership with Fresno City College, students can take college-level courses while still in high school, earning both high school and college credits. This program provides an early start on college education and enhances career readiness.
Aspen Ridge follows California’s Minimum High School Graduation Requirements, ensuring students complete essential coursework in English, math, science, social studies, and more to earn their diploma.
To be eligible for the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems, students must complete the A-G course sequence, which includes advanced coursework in core subjects and electives. Aspen Ridge ensures students meet and exceed these standards.
